It’s that time of year, Quiltcon is upon us once again! I’m busy getting ready for a three week journey that begins in Savannah Georgia with Quiltcon East, February 23-26 and completes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with the Broward Quilt Expo March 8-13, with a friends and family visit to NC in between.
Traveling requires lots of flow and flexibility, which reminds me… I will be talking about flow at Quiltcon on Thursday, using beautiful images of flowing water, like the one above photographed by my good friend Victor Volta that’s @victorvolta60 – follow him on IG if you like having an occasional nature break from your steady feed of patchwork, fabric, art & design.
I will be saying at the Westin and wandering the exhibit and vender halls during the day on Thursday & Friday. I look forward to seeing new & old & online comrades, so if you run into me please don’t hesitate to say hi and introduce yourself! Here is my complete Quiltcon schedule:
- Thursday, February 23
5 PM Setting Limits to Find the Sweet Spot of Flow Presentation
6-9 PM Ruler-Free Strip Workshop
- Friday, February 24
11 AM – Noon, Come see me at the Quilt Alliance Booth for a special announcement!
1-3 PM, Singing books and greeting friends at The Cloth Pocket Booth #446, bring your copy of The Improv Handbook to be signed or purchase a copy there!

I’m also thrilled to be teaching along side of Nancy Mahoney at the Broward Quilt Expo March 8-13 … so Florida folks if you can’t make it to Savannah come see me in Fort Lauderdale! There are still a couple of spaces open in my Modern Block Improv Workshop on March 10 and my half-day Ruler-Free Strip Piecing Workshop on March 11. And the price is right!
Here’s a preview of the two Recology Make Do quilts that will be on view at Quiltcon. Wishing fellowship and good will to all attending, and for all at home, may you enjoy creative and inspired studio time away from the fray!
