There is nothing better than wearing a sexy, carefree dress in San Francisco on the first day of summer, especially when it’s warm and sunny. These are golden days!
I took this photo with the Instagram app on my new Android smart phone.
I LOVE this new app. I’m sure some of you have already discovered it. I can take photos on the go and assign a filter that fits the context, mood or ‘story’ of the image. My phone camera doesn’t take fantastic pictures so Instagram is a great tool for creating better images on the fly.
By using my phone camera with Instagram, I hope to post more photos, more frequently, of my neighborhood, and the people and places I come into contact with on a daily basis.
I’m curious to hear if anyone else uses Instagram. What do you like best about it and how do you use it as tool on your blog or elsewhere?

Is that a cherry pie i see peeking out of your Instagram slideshow over there on the right sidebar?~! My personal favorite so we planted a couple cherry trees two years ago and yummy stuff has ensued. They will get bigger and more prolific as years pass and i will grow old with them. Thanks for sharing that image. I love YOUr Instagram. I still have a notsmart phone that takes pics well enough for now.
i love that i can take relatively good quality images with a phone. a! phone!
i know a lot of photo purists don’t like the added filters, but i think it’s harmless and fun. it appeals to my vintage/retro nature.
i also love seeing other people’s images.
Yes, but isn’t if fantastic that WE’RE NOT purists! Any new quilts on the way?
I also just got a smart phone & instagram. I don’t yet know how to upload pictures to Flickr from any of my portable devices though. What app do you have for that?
(I love that you are looking so happy again! Makes me happy!)
Thank you Beth, That’s very sweet!
Download a flickr app for your smart phone. Then after you take a picture, choose to “share” it, and an option to upload it to your flickr account will pop up.
